It is Celine’s birthday today.
Words cannot adequately express how much I adore this remarkable young woman.
She just keeps on surprising and impressing us.
About 6 months ago she took up Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. BJJ for short, is a martial art, combat sport system that focuses on grappling and especially ground fighting. (!)
Already she is competing, and has so far won every competition she has entered, by a landslide.
Celine is tiny – but exceptionally strong, and technically adept. Nobody expects her to be as good as she is.
Last weekend I saw her in action for the first time, and could hardly believe what I was witnessing.
Several judges and trainers approached me and told me what a huge talent she is.
And now I can’t stop bragging. 🙂
So yes, she is a great athlete. But she is so much more than that!
She is wise and wonderful, conscientious, hardworking, and faithful.
She is spiritually grounded, has a great sense of justice, and is super responsible.
I love her wit, her corny laugh and her sensitive soul.
It’s such a cliché, but I feel so blessed to be her mother.
